Wheelchair Basketball Skills Clinic

Join Paralympic legend Patrick Anderson for an exciting wheelchair basketball workshop at Chelsea Piers! This intensive clinic is designed for wheelchair basketball players aged 7-18 who are eager to develop their fundamentals, teamwork, and gameplay.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is geared toward athletes aged 7-18 with lower body disabilities, though able-bodied friends and siblings are welcome. Participants should be able to independently push a sports chair and follow direction. Sports chairs will be available for those who do not have their own.

Common disabilities of participants include:

  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Spina bifida
  • Lower extremity amputations
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Polio
  • Leg length discrepancies

What to Expect

The clinic will focus on skill-building, teamwork, and gameplay to coach up local wheelchair basketball players.

  • Instruction from the Best: Led by Paralympian Patrick Anderson, with support from guest coaches.
  • Skill Development: Hands-on drills covering essential chair skills and game fundamentals.
  • 3 vs 3 Scrimmage Play: Put your skills into action during competitive 3-on-3 half-court scrimmage sessions.

Each athlete will be responsible for a $25 registration fee.
