Why it matters

A path to water independence

Every Chelsea Piers swimmer earns their way forward through our badge system. Each level has five specific skills attached to it. As a swimmer masters each one, their instructor marks it off. When all five are complete, they advance — and they know exactly why.

We welcome children from 3 months through their teens. Our youngest classes — Starfish — are designed for infants and toddlers with a caregiver in the water. Infant swim lessons start as early as 3 months. Every level from there is built around where your child is right now, developmentally and in the water.
