We completely understand that camp drop-off can be a stressful time, especially if your camper is nervous to leave you behind! Our counselors are very experienced with campers who are feeling anxious. To help drop-off go smoothly, it’s best to stay calm and remind your camper that they will have a lot of fun doing their camp activities, and that you will be right back for them after camp! If you’re nervous, try to be cheerful and energetic for your camper! If they feel that you’re nervous, they may mirror that. After camp, you can ask your camper about the best parts of their day and what they’re excited about for the next day. If they’re still nervous the next day, remind them of what you talked about the day before and that you will pick them up again just like the day before!
