Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex is a 28-acre waterfront sports village located between 17th and 23rd Streets along Manhattan's Hudson River.

Adult Basic Skills Level 1
Ice Skating ·
Adult skaters with minimal or no prior skating experience, learn the basic skating skills and build confidence on the ice.
Adult Basic Skills Level 1 introduces beginner skaters to the fundamentals of skating. Skaters learn in a supportive group environment led by expert coaches. Skaters are introduced to falling and recovery, forward marching, forward two-foot glides, one forwrad swizzle and one backward swizzle, dips and snowplow stops. This is the perfect beginner class to master the basics.
Class Breakdown: 7:00pm-7:20pm Warm-up, 7:20pm-7:50pm Group Class, 7:50pm-8:20pm Free Skate.

Adult Basic Skills Level 2
Ice Skating ·
Adult skaters that have completed Adult 1 will continue to work on the basic skating skills and build more confidence on the ice.
In the next level of Adult Basic Skills, skaters learn forward skating across the ice, forward one-foot glides, forward slalom, backward skating, backward swizzles, two-foot turns in place.
Class Breakdown: 7:00pm-7:20pm Warm-up, 7:20pm-7:50pm Group Class, 7:50pm-8:20pm Free Skate.

Adult Basic Skills Level 3
Ice Skating ·
Adult skaters who have completed Adult level 2 will focus on learning how to skate on their edges in preparation to start forward crossovers and moving two foot turns.
In Adult 3, skaters focus on techniques including forward stroking with proper blade use, forward half-swizzle pumps, moving forward to backward and vice versa two-foot turns, backward skating into a long glide, forward chasses on a circle and backward snowplow stops.

Adult Basic Skills Level 4
Ice Skating ·
Adult skaters who have completed Adult level 3 will focus on learning forward crossovers, outside edges and backward pumps.
In Adult 4, skaters learn forward outside edges, forward inside edges, forward crossovers in both directions, backward one-foot glides, backward half-swizze pumps and hockey stops. Skaters will start to prepare for backward crossover work in the next level.

Makle-up Class: Monday, June 8th

Adult Basic Skills Level 5
Ice Skating ·
Adult skaters who have completed Adult level 4 will focus on backward skating skills, forward three turns and two foot spins.
In Adult 5, skaters work on backward inside and outside edges on both feet, backward crossovers in both directions, forward outside edge three-turns, forward swing rolls and beginnings of a twp-foot spin.
